Home PracticeThis page has been created to provide extra reading practice for families that is fun and will keep students engaged. The links below will send you to a game that can be printed and played at home as a family. I have linked (on the Letter Sounds and Phonics page above) learning videos that will help support your child's phonic knowledge.

Sight Word Booklets These are printable practice books that students have already received. I have linked it here in case a child's booklet has become lost.. Grade 1 students are expected to know the majority of the First Hundred sight words by the end of the year. Students often surpass the First Hundred so I will also be attaching the Second and Third Hundred booklets as well.
When students learn a list of the sight words they colour in the number at the top of the list and bring the booklet to school to be tested. If they can 'instantly' read the words (without sounding out) students will receive a sticker on the front of the booklet (lets you know they have passed their bubble gum quiz and are ready to start practising the next list). Students will also receive a piece of bubble gum to glue onto their bubble gum machine. |
